Signature Series Sets 2012-2022

This post captures all Signature Series sets between 2012 and 2022. I own at least one sealed copy of each. Only the first 5 sets actually have a Signature Series round label on the front. Someone at Mega decided to drop the label in 2016. However, I'm categorizing any set packaged in large Signature Series boxes as Signature Series sets, the most recent of which is #HHD16 Snake Mountain.

Based on current market rates, it will cost you over £6000 to buy all 13 sets sealed assuming you can find them all listed in acceptable condition. The most expensive set to buy sealed is #97694 Covenant Scarab which will likely cost you £1200 or more! The cheapest set to buy sealed is #GWW84 Tesla Cybertruck which has recently been available on Amazon UK for £50. However, this set will definitely appreciate significantly once it's retired. It might also appreciate in value once we start seeing the truck on the roads! :)

A few observations on how packaging has changed: Signature Series boxes lost their handles in 2018, paper bags for parts appeared in 2021 but then disappeared in 2022, and round seals have been replaced with standard tape seals in 2022.

I have built one of these sets and it's quite a challenge since you have to open all the bags early on. A large and stunning set to display, especially with a #6822 Heavy Armor Outpost tank.

I believe this set was re-released in 2022 along side #HHD16 Snake Mountain. However, I have yet to see a physical set with the new MEGA branding. If they did re-release the set then maybe they did so with exactly the same box art and copyright year.

I have built one of these sets and it's quite a challenge working out when to use black vs dark grey pieces! This is made a bit easier since you open numbered bags as you go along. However, I imagine it will be much more difficult to re-build a second time. However, it is a lovely set to display! :)
This set includes paper bags rather than plastic bags for parts. Personally, I prefer plastic bags. Some of the paper bags had torn and I like to see what's in the bags. I have many old sets with open boxes but sealed bags and it's nice to look thru the parts contained in those bags.

Final Comments

All Signature Series sets are must have items in my collection. I have only built two of the them so far since they take weeks for me to build. However, I want to build and display them all! :)
